The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a class next Tuesday that will focus on women’s safety and awareness. The class will be held in the 2nd floor training room of the Law Enforcement Center in Walhalla at 300 South Church Street on November 12th starting at 6pm.  Oconee County Councilman Wayne McCall will also attend and share his thoughts and concerns on the issue of women’s safety and how women can protect themselves if attacked.  If anyone is interested in taking further training after next Tuesday, the Sheriff’s Office is making available brochures that will outline a program that is being offered to women in Oconee County.  The program, entitled RAD (Rape Aggression Defense), is a nationally recognized program that is taught by certified instructors and is taught be deputies of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.  This class next Tuesday is free and open to the public.
