OC Sheriff’s Office arrests Man on Multiple Charges
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Monday on multiple charges, including two charges involving weapons. Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt gives details. “According to the incident report, a deputy responded to a call involving a man in a vehicle following a female in another vehicle to her home and then confronting the ladies father at the door of the residence on Meadowlark Lane in the Seneca area. The suspect reportedly then left the home and the deputy spotted a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle at the intersection of Crestridge Drive and Crooked Creek Road in the West Union area. The deputy performed a traffic stop. The deputy asked the man, identified as McKinsey Tribble, for his license. Tribble stated that he did not have his license with him. The deputy also noticed an opened bottle of liquor in the rear floorboard. A second deputy arrived on the scene, upon which Tribble was ordered to step out of the vehicle. After Tribble walked to rear of the vehicle, a Terry frisk was performed, upon which the deputy felt something in Tribble’s left pocket, which Tribble said was a knife. Tribble tried to reach for the knife multiple times, attempted to pull away from the deputies, and did not follow the deputies’ instructions. The deputies were able to gain control of Tribble and place handcuffs on him. Tribble’s ID card was located in his wallet, upon which deputies learned that Tribble did not have a license from dispatch. Tribble was then placed under arrest for an open container charge and no driver’s license. Tribble then advised deputies that he had a gun in his car and it was in his jacket, and advised them further that the gun was not his even though it was in the car he was driving. A search of the vehicle revealed an open container of beer in the front seat along with the open container of liquor, and a handgun was found. According to the incident report, a black ski mask was found in the rear of the vehicle, along with gloves. Deputies ran a criminal history of Tribble through the National Crimes Information Center, which revealed that Tribble is a convicted felon and is not to be in the possession of a firearm.” The 33-year-old Tribble was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on charges of unlawful carrying of a pistol and possession of a handgun by a person convicted of a felony. Uniform traffic tickets were also issued against Tribble for open container of beer in a motor vehicle, transporting alcohol in a motor vehicle with the seal broken, and driving without a license. His bond on all charges was set at $30,762.
