OC Sheriff’s Office arrests Westminster Man for Grand Larceny

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Westminster man Tuesday on a charge of grand larceny. Booked into the Oconee County Detention Center was 35-year-old Joshua Richard Dills of Baileys Mountain Road. Back on Oct. 15, a deputy from the Uniform Patrol responded to an address on Dills Drive in the Salem area in regards to a larceny of several items on the property, including a Woodmiser Pull Behind Saw Mill, valued at around $20,000. An investigation began that was turned over the Criminal Investigation Division. As the investigation continued and evidence was gathered in the case, it was determined that Dills had taken the saw mill from the property. Dills is a family member of the individual who made the initial report of the larceny to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. Dills has been released from the Oconee County Detention Center on a $20,000 personal recognizance bond. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
