OC Sheriff’s Office investigating Shootings on the Utica Mill Hill

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an active investigation into a shooting that occurred on the Utica Mill Hill Monday morning, Sept. 10. The E-911/Communications Center received a call regarding the shooting around 9:10am. The caller was not at the residence where the shooting occurred, 14 Padgett Street near Jamerson Avenue, but was inside a nearby house. The caller heard gunshots and then discovered two victims in the yard of the residence at 14 Padgett Street. Deputies from the Criminal Investigations Division, the Special Operations Division and the Uniform Patrol Division responded to the scene to begin the investigation and gather evidence. The Coroner’s Office responded to the scene as well. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office does not believe that the public is in any danger at this time.
