OC Sheriff’s Office makes Drug Arrests

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office announces recent drug arrests in two ongoing operations being conducted by Narcotics Agents. Two arrests were made over the weekend in Operation Opioid Battle, which began on July 30, with the execution of two search warrants by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office and the Seneca Police Department at two separate locations, one on Brookwood Drive near Seneca and the other on Daniel Avenue inside the city limits of Seneca. The search warrants were obtained based upon the controlled purchases of narcotics from both locations by Narcotics Agents of both agencies, which involved the purchase of heroin as well as methamphetamine. In all, eight individuals were arrested as part of the execution of the search warrants, plus, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office announced additional arrests in the investigation on Aug. 3, and Aug. 13. These additional arrests brings the total number arrested to twelve. The most recent arrestees are 33-year-old Robert Scott Sosebee of Seneca for distribution of a controlled substance and two counts of distribution of methamphetamine and 29-year-old Sarah Williams of Seneca for distribution of heroin. Sosebee was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center by an officer from the Seneca Police Department on Aug. 17, and remains in custody on a combined $90,000 surety bond. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office also announces an arrest in the twentieth “Operation Infinity” drug sweep, which began officially on July 26, with 12 subjects being sought on charges involving the distribution of methamphetamine. This operation had its primary focus on the Utica Mill Hill area near Seneca. As part of this operation, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at an address on Padgett Street. In the execution of that search warrant, two arrests were made on subjects who were not wanted as part of this roundup. Also, a moped was discovered on the scene that was reported stolen by the Clemson City Police Department. So far, eleven individuals have been arrested or were already in jail and have been served their warrants. That total does include the two subjects arrested due to the execution of the search warrant on Padgett Street. The latest arrestee was 22-year-old James Dillon McCutcheon of Seneca for two counts of distribution of methamphetamine. McCutcheon was in the custody of the Seneca Police Department and custody was transferred to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, who booked McCutcheon into the Oconee County Detention Center on Aug. 19. McCutcheon was released on Aug. 19, on a combined $20,000 personal recognizance bond. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
