OC Sheriff’s Office promoting Sex Offender Awareness

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is promoting sex offender awareness.  At the beginning of his term, Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw designated a full-time officer to supervise sex offenders. Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt gives details.  “Sheriff Crenshaw deemed this to be very important, so important that we now have a certified law enforcement officer, Kelly Winchester.  She has over 17-years of law enforcement experience and she is now the sex offender registrar.  There are 155 registered sex offenders in Oconee County, so part of her job is to make sure all of those people are in compliance.  We also have a link on our website, www.oconeelaw.com that you can check out as well.” That link connects you to OffenderWatch®, which is a leading technology partner and consultant to law enforcement nationwide, dealing with sex offender registries.  OffenderWatch® offers tools for agencies to access sex offender data so they can run neighborhood searches around their home and school.
