OC Sheriff’s Office seeks Help regarding Suspicious Fire

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help regarding a suspicious fire on June 20th near Walhalla. According to investigators, deputies responded to 122 Warner Mill Road in regards to a structure fire.  When deputies arrived, they were notified by firefighters that when they arrived on scene, there was no one in the house and they had noticed a fire in the garage and in the basement. Officials on the scene noticed that a bottom window in the basement pointing toward the front of the house had a hole in it and fire crews finished breaking the glass to finish extinguishing the flames.  Fire crews told deputies on the scene that they felt that due to information given to them that the fire could be suspicious in nature.  The scene was then turned over to investigators of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.  If you have any information concerning this fire, you are asked to call CrimeStoppers at 638-STOP or text in your tip to 274637.  You do not have to give your name and if your tip leads to an arrest, you could receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.  The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
