OC Sheriff’s Office seeks help solving August Burglary

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office seeks the public’s help in its investigation into a burglary and larceny that occurred at a South Highway 11 business. The Sheriff’s Office is also seeking the public’s help in identifying an individual in relation to this incident. A deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division responded to a business location, a convenience store and a restaurant called The Pickle Barrel, on South Highway 11 near Deer Run Road and Bruce Road in regards to reports of a burglar alarm during the early morning hours of Aug. 15. The deputy discovered an open door on the restaurant side of the building and upon making entry, discovered that there was no cash register. A review of the security camera footage showed a white male wearing a camo jacket, light pants, gloves and a straw hat enter the building and take the register with an undisclosed amount of cash inside. The case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division. The cash register was later found. Investigators later discovered that a storage building on the property was also burglarized and items were missing from the storage building as well.
