OC Sheriff’s Office using more Social Media
In an effort to keep the citizens of Oconee County informed, the Sheriff’s Office is using more social media sites. Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt gives details. “We live in the information age, I don’t think there is any question about that and folks want information and they want it quickly. They are not necessarily going any more to traditional media to get that.” Using social media more is a priority of Sheriff Crenshaw, adds Watt. “Folks have access to all kinds of information and they have access to it very quickly and so any way we can get our message out, the information to our citizens out we are going to use. One of the things that Sheriff Crenshaw ran on and one of the things that is very near and dear to his heart is being open and getting information to the public, letting them know what is going on and having an open Sheriff’s Office, I think we have done a good job of that. One of the things that I really want to make more use of this year is our You Tube page. We have a page on You Tube besides Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus and our website as well.” See how the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is using social media by visiting www.oconeelaw.com.
