OC survives Latest Round of Winter Weather

Oconee County survived this latest round of winter weather, reports Oconee County Emergency Services Deputy Chief of Special Operations Scott Krein. “Well, this round we were spared, we received the least amount of snow and ice in the region, but one of the things is we got on the road between the South Carolina DOT and Oconee County Roads and Bridges monitored and made sure we took care of the places that were needed. We had very little fires and just a few accidents, so overall it was a good event.” As always, Chief Krein encourages creating a 72-hour safety plan that includes food, water and any medicines just in case the power goes out or you cannot leave your home for some reason.
