Oconee County A “Sitting Duck” For Developers

Oconee County resident Patsy Davis spoke last night during the public comments portion of the Oconee County Council meeting. She brought with her a petition that contained twenty-three signatures from concerned citizens regarding land development in Oconee, in particular, the building of new subdivisions.

Davis said the county has become a “sitting duck” for development, and she’s worried that city services won’t be able to keep up, as well as the loss of farm land in the area…

Seneca’s representative on the County Council, Paul Cain, responded to Davis and said the county planning commission should analyze the evolving situation and either control or manage growth, because, Cain said, Oconee will always be a desirable place to live…
