Oconee County Closures and Emergency Operations Center Activation
Oconee County government offices will be closed on Friday, January 10, due to predicted inclement weather related to the National Weather Service’s Winter Storm Warning issued for the entire Upstate.
Administrative offices, including the Libraries and Courts will be closed, however all emergency and public safety personnel as well as the County’s public works division will be on duty during this closure.
The Oconee County Rock Quarry will be closed on Friday and Saturday, with anticipated reopening on Monday, January 13, at 7:30 am.
All County Recycling Centers and the Landfill will be closed on Friday, with anticipated reopening Saturday, January 11, at 10:00 am.
All County Parks will be closed on Friday, with anticipated reopening on Saturday, January 11, at 10:00 am providing roadways leading to parks are deemed safe for travel.
To mitigate the impact of the storm, the Oconee County Emergency Operations Center will be activated on Friday, January 10 at 9:00 am. Residents are encouraged to tune their radios to the local Emergency Alert System (EAS) station for information as the winter storm continues to track northward.
