Oconee County Council passes action items this week as it relates to chau ram and high falls county parks

(Seneca, SC)————Oconee County Council passed an action item this week at their regularly scheduled meeting for construction projects involving Chau Ram and High Falls County Parks, which will entail a new office and ADA restrooms at Chau Ram and a new park shelter and storage at High Falls.

The total award amount was for over $900,000 dollars, with the money being used coming from the local ATAX fund, the Economic Development Millage Fund and the General Fund.

“These (action items) have been on Council’s to do list for years, even before I got here and they’ve constantly been on the chopping block from going through that,” according to Oconee County Council Chairman Julian Davis. “And unfortunately, the actual facility itself, especially the bathrooms at Chau Ram have literally come unglued, and they are not ADA compliant.”

“If you go out there to High Falls, we’ve made a lot of improvements but on the facilities side of things, we are lacking,” says Chairman Davis. “We need to take care of our parks.”
