Oconee County Council Vote On School District Budget To Come Soon

(Seneca, SC)————–Oconee County Council held their regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday night in Council Chambers and during the meeting, Council approved the third and final reading of next year’s almost $50 million dollar budget, which begins with the new fiscal year on July 1st. 

The next big budget item for County Council will be the final approval of the Fiscal Year 2020 budget for the School District of Oconee County.

Julian Davis, Chairman of Oconee County Council, said that he and District One Councilman John Elliott have met with the School Board and the School Administrators to discuss the budget before budget discussions began in regards to what their needs were going forward.    

Davis said that the plan is to discuss a little earlier what the needs of the School District will be as they prepare for the 2021 budget cycle.
