Oconee County Libraries Seek Blue Jeans for Shower Program

The Oconee County Public Library partners with Catholic Charities and Our Daily Bread to offer free showers every other Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Our Daily Bread, 106 Jordan Street, Seneca, via the Mobile Clean of Heart unit. Supervised by Kerry Leeper Brock, LISW-CP, the program—started in September 2023 and regularly scheduled since 2024 with grant support—has provided over 475 showers plus clean outfits to promote dignity, health, and job readiness for those facing homelessness, housing insecurity, or water issues. To support the effort, OCPL is collecting new or gently used adult blue jeans (all sizes, especially small men’s) through February 27 at any library location, as jeans are the most requested item for their durability. Contact Kerry at 864-364-5702 for details.
