Oconee County Primary Results Set the Stage for November

Accounting for both parties, Oconeeans turned out at 26.65% for the June 9, 2026, primary elections, where Republicans outvoted Democrats by a wide margin. Unofficial vote tallies set up several November showdowns and a June 23 runoff for Governor between Donald Trump-endorsed Lieutenant Governor Pamela Evette (31.02%) and Attorney General Alan Wilson (23.19%).

 

Trump-endorsed Lindsey Graham secured the GOP U.S. Senate nomination with 51.77% of the vote to face Democrat Annie Andrews, who carried Oconee with 77.36%.

Local Democratic matchups were also settled: Devin Clay (52.49%) won the primary for County Council Seat 3 to face Republican incumbent Don Mize (62.95%), and Jasmine Williams (66.80%) secured the State House District 1 nod to challenge Republican incumbent Bill Whitmire (64.34%) in November.
