Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Couple on Unlawful Neglect of Children Charges

(Seneca, SC)——————–The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has charged an Oconee couple with Unlawful Neglect of a Child Charges. Back on February 17th of this year, a deputy was dispatched to the Walmart location in Seneca in regards to reports of a shoplifting. According to the case report, the deputy was informed by dispatch that the subjects had fled from the scene leaving a 13 year old child behind. The deputy was informed later that the subjects had returned to the scene but they had left two children in a car while the car was still running. According to the case report, one child was five years old and the other was 20 months old. The deputy then observed some items in the vehicle that were new. 

Based on evidence gathered as part of the investigation, 44 year old Chad Byron Holloway and 29 year old Angel Dawn Holloway were issued arrest warrants for Unlawful Neglect. Chad Holloway was also issued a citation for Obtaining Property by False Pretenses and Angel Holloway was charged with shoplifting. 

Both subjects were transported to the Oconee County Detention Center. An employee with the Department of Social Services also arrived on the scene and the children were turned over to the custody of a family member.
