Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Oconee County Woman on a Drug Trafficking Charge

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Oconee County woman Tuesday on a drug trafficking charge.

31 year old Robbie Leigh Eades was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 6:26pm. She has been charged with one count each of Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Simple Possession of Marijuana in regards to yesterday’s arrest. Eades also had an outstanding arrest warrant on a charge of Filing a False Police Report in relation to a separate incident.

A deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division responded to an address on Riverstone Drive yesterday afternoon, which is near Wilson Branch and Keowee Key, in regards to reports of possible trespassing. Dispatch advised the deputy that a vehicle was stuck and a wrecker driver on scene was requesting law enforcement to respond.

After deputies arrived on scene, they observed a gold Mercury Grand Marquis that was stuck on a steep hill near a golf cart path. The tag on the vehicle came back registered to another vehicle.

A deputy made contact with two individuals, one of those being Eades. Dispatch advised the deputy that there was an outstanding warrant for Eades on the Filing a False Police Report charge. Eades was placed into custody while standing at the driver’s side door, whereupon the deputy noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Eades informed the deputy of marijuana blunt inside of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle produced an additional quantity of marijuana as well as a quantity of methamphetamine inside the vehicle in an article of female clothing with Eades wallet lying alongside.

Eades was transported to the Oconee County Detention Center and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

The charge for Filing a False Police Report against Eades stems from a report filed with the Sheriff’s Office on December 6th of last year in which Eades claimed that a rental vehicle, a gray 2018 Ford Escape, had been stolen from the southern part of Oconee County on S. Highway 11 near I-85.

The Sheriff’s Office was later notified by the South Carolina Highway Patrol that the vehicle had been involved in a traffic accident along I-85 in Greenville County.

At this time, Eades remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center with a bond amount set at more than $55,000.
