Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Seneca Man On Drug Trafficking and Multiple Weapons Charges

(Seneca, SC)———————————-The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man over this past weekend on multiple weapons charges and also on a charge of Trafficking in Methamphetamine. 38 year old Terry Christopher Cox was taken into custody after deputies responded to an address on Friendship Road in Seneca in regards to a warrants service. Cox,who had eight outstanding General Sessions Bench Warrants, was located in a camper on the property and when located by deputies, Cox had a firearm on his person. There was also additional multiple firearms and ammunition located inside the camper and a check with dispatched reveal that Cox was prohibited from Possessing a Firearm due to a previous conviction for a charge of Domestic Violence – High and Aggravated. 

Deputies also discovered around 55 grams of Methamphetamine inside of the camper, according to the case report. 

Besides the eight General Sessions Bench Warrants and the Trafficking in Methamphetamine charge, Cox also was served with three arrest warrants related to weapons charges, including one count each of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of a Weapon During Commission of a Violent Crime. Cox is also accused in the other weapons arrest warrant of knowingly possessing a firearm in which the original serial number had been removed or obliterated. 

Cox was given a combined $80,000 surety bond on the charges from the Sheriff’s Office. A hold has also been placed on Cox by authorities from Stephens County, Georgia. At this time, Cox remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center.
