Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Seneca Man on Multiple Charges, Including Attempted Murder

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man yesterday on multiple charges, including a charge of Attempted Murder.

68 year old Guy Jimmy Shook of Owens Road was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 2:10pm Tuesday.  Shook has also been charged by the Sheriff’s Office with one count each of Assault and Battery – 3rd Degree and Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime.

A deputy from the Uniform Patrol Division responded early yesterday afternoon to an address in the 1800 block of Owens Road, on the Utica Mill Hill, in regards to reports of shots being fired.  As the investigation began, the deputy learned of an argument that became physical between Shook and another individual, a female, who resides at the same address.  After yelling for help, Shook was confronted by another individual, a man, who also resides at the same address.  According to deputies, Shook made threats to kill that person, upon which Shook went inside the residence, came back outside and discharged a handgun at the man.

Deputies gathered evidence from the scene and then arrested Shook and transported him to the Oconee County Detention Center.  At this time, Shook remains in custody at the Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
