Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Seneca Woman and Westminster Man on Accessory After the Fact Charges

47 year old Regina Leigh Mote of Sitton Mill Road and 47 year old Timothy Wayne Rogers of Ranger Road were booked into the Oconee County Detention Center Thursday around 4:55 pm and 7:40 pm respectively on one count each of Accessory after the Fact of a Felony.  Mote was also served an outstanding Family Court Bench Warrant.  

On Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Office obtained arrest warrants against 27 year old Devan Chavis Bennett for Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime in regards to a shooting of a female victim at an address on Spartan Drive in the southern part of Oconee County.  Mote and Rogers are Bennett’s biological mother and step-father, and investigators said that, based on evidence gathered, they believe the two rendered aid to Bennett knowing he committed the alleged shooting.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing it’s investigation.
