Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Westminster Man on Charges Related to Sexual Assault Investigation

Billy Jack William Ramey, 47, of Westminster, remains in jail on a $75,000 surety bond after his arrest this week on four charges related to a sexual assault investigation. Ramey was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center Tuesday morning, facing one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor – 3rd Degree and three counts of Assault with the Intent to Commit Criminal Sexual Conduct – 2nd Degree.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office began its investigation on June 5th after a report of sexual assault involving two teenagers at a Westminster address. Evidence gathered by a Violent Crimes Investigator led to Ramey’s arrest, with warrants detailing assaults on one victim in 2023 and two separate assaults on another victim in 2022 and 2023.

The investigation is ongoing, and no further information will be released to protect the victims’ identities.
