Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Westminster Man On Kidnapping And Domestic Violence Charges

(Seneca, SC)———-The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Westminster man on charges of Kidnapping and Domestic Violence – 1st Degree earlier this week.

37 year old Jarrett Matthew Moore was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center late Tuesday morning.

According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to an address on Pickens Road in Westminster in reference to an assault.  Once arriving on scene, deputies discovered a female victim with a physical manifestation of injuries.  The woman also said that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend and also that she had escaped from the residence where the assault occurred into some nearby woods where she contacted the Sheriff’s Office.

Based upon evidence gathered as a result of the investigation, deputies obtained arrest warrants against Moore.  According to the arrest warrants obtained by the Sheriff’s Office, Moore punched the victim in the face causing a broken nose and a laceration above the victim’s eye.  The defendant, according to arrest warrants, prevented the victim from using a phone to call 911 and unlawfully confined the victim without the authority to do so.
