Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Westminster Man On Multiple Drug and Weapons Charges After Execution Of Search Warrant

(Seneca, SC)——————-The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Westminster man Wednesday on multiple drug and weapons charges after the execution of a search warrant at his residence. 

According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, 56 year old Charles Whitney Batts has been charged by the Sheriff’s Office with three counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine, one count of Trafficking in Heroin, two counts of Distribution of Heroin, one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine and four counts of Possession of a Weapon During Commission of a Violent Crime. 

The release states that after deputies made entry into the residence, Batts was encountered and detained. Upon a search of the residence, deputies discovered firearms and a quantity of narcotics, which included heroin and methamphetamine. 

Also according to the release, a second subject was located on scene when deputies arrived to execute the search warrant. 20 year old Clifford Daniel Ritter of Westminster was found lying face down outside of the home and appeared to be disposing of a small plastic bag filled with a green leafy substance. Ritter had an outstanding Magistrate’s Bench Warrant and he was taken into custody. Ritter was also charged with Simple Possession of Marijuana.
