Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Westminster Man This Week On Domestic Violence Charges

(Seneca, SC)—The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Westminster man this week on charges of Domestic Violence – High and Aggravated. 

Deputies responded to an address on Hope Drive near Walhalla during the early morning hours Wednesday in regards to reports of a disturbance. According to a press release issued by the Sheriff’s Office, deputies discovered a female that had been doused with gasoline and was hiding in the woods. The female reported that she had also been assaulted by the suspect. 

The suspect, 46 year old Tommy Lee Looney, had left the scene but was located driving south on Highway 11 towards Westminster. 

Deputies initiated a traffic stop, whereupon Looney was notified that he was being arrested on Domestic Violence charges. He was then transported to the Oconee County Detention Center.
