Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Issues Release Regarding Technology Upgrade to Pursuit Alert App

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has been notified today by some citizens with the Pursuit Alert App that it was being activated. Contact was made with the manufacturer due to the Sheriff’s Office not being involved in any pursuits today.
“The company that owns and operates the Pursuit Alert App is doing a technology upgrade
which caused the app to activate on some units indicating a pursuit was in their area,” says Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw. “We wanted to alert our citizens that there is no danger to the public and we apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused. Once this technology upgrade has been completed, the app will go back to its normal function of alerting our citizens who may be traveling in an area of a pursuit.”
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office will forward any additional information we receive from the company if necessary. -Master Deputy Jimmy Watt contributed this report.
