Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Reports Drop In Reported Domestic Violence Cases In 2018 Sheriff’s Office Summary

(Seneca, SC)——————Last week, Oconee County Sheriff Mike Crenshaw released the Sheriff’s Office 2018 Sheriff’s Office Summary to the citizens of Oconee County. The report indicated a drop in the numbers of some violent and property crimes reported in 2018 from previous years, which included a drop in the number of domestic violence cases, from 240 reported cases in 2013 down to 162 reported cases in 2018.

Sheriff Crenshaw credits community involvement and awareness as well as organizations such as A Call To Action and Safe Harbor and a dedicated Domestic Violence court plus other services provided as contributors to the drop in the reported domestic violence cases. The Sheriff also credits Domestic Violence legislation passed a couple of years ago by the South Carolina General Assembly as a contributor to the drop in the number of reported cases as well.
