Oconee County Sheriff’s Office: Second Arrest Made in $22,000 Vehicle Break-In and “Jugging” Investigation
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a second suspect, 33-year-old Korin Jamell Moffett of Houston, Texas, charging him with grand larceny, breaking into a motor vehicle, and criminal conspiracy following a June 20 investigation where approximately $22,000 intended for construction payroll was stolen from a box truck on Fairway Lane in Chickasaw Point.
Investigators believe the victim was targeted in a “jugging” theft after being followed from a bank in another Upstate county by Moffett and co-defendant 43-year-old Bartley Omar White—who was previously arrested on September 22—with evidence gathered using FLOCK cameras, bank records, and assistance from Chickasaw Point employees.
Moffett remains jailed pending a bond hearing, while White was released on a $30,000 surety bond and an ankle monitor, as the Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation and reminds the public to remain vigilant when withdrawing cash.
