Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public Help in Vehicle Break-In

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance to identify a person of interest in two vehicle break-ins that occurred near Seneca last month.

On the morning of March 23, 2026, deputies responded to the Vehicle Maintenance facility on Wells Highway after two full-size county pickup trucks—one assigned to Oconee County Vehicle Maintenance and the other to Oconee County Roads and Bridges—were broken into and power tools along with other equipment were stolen. The thefts are believed to have taken place in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 22.

The person of interest is described as a male wearing a baseball hat, an Ariat long-sleeve shirt, white shoes, sweatpants, glasses, and a beard. The case has been assigned to a Property Crimes Investigator.
