Oconee County to Open Temporary Shelter in Seneca

(Walhalla, SC) – Due to prolonged, below freezing temperatures, Oconee County Emergency Services and community partners are opening q temporary warming shelters in Oconee County. The warming shelter,located at Seneca Middle School, will accept men, women and children who are seeking refuge from the cold. No drugs, alcohol or weapons will be permitted.

• Residents are encouraged to tune in to the local radio stations WFBC 93.7 FM, WGOG 101.7 FM
and 94.1 FM The Lake.
• Warming Shelters will be opening at 4:00 p.m. at Seneca Middle School (15440 Wells Highway,
Seneca, SC 29678) on January 25, 2026.
