Oconee County Tornado Recovery

In order to continue to respond to inquiries related to the tornado which affected many of the citizens of Oconee County, Emergency Services has personnel manning two phone lines:

All questions related to storm recovery, supplies and available services should be directed to the contact information provided. Staff is available to answer calls seven days a week.

Emergency Services is actively working in devastated parts of the County and may not have an immediate response to all inquiries; however, staff is working diligently to respond in a timely manner.

On April 13, 2020, an EF-3 tornado touched down in the Westminster area around 3:20 a.m. The tornado reached up to 160 mph and traveled approximately 16 miles, eight of which are within Oconee County. Significant damage has been reported in the Downtown Seneca and Utica areas.

Residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel to devastated areas so that Emergency Services may better assist the people of Oconee County.
