Oconee Humane Society is partnering with Best Friends Animal Society to offer waived Adoption Fees July 22-24

In light of the current crisis in animal shelters, Oconee Humane Society and Best Friends Animal Society have joined together for an event created to encourage more people to
adopt a pet from July 22-24.

“We are excited to partner with Best Friends Animal Society to help more of our dogs and cats find their forever homes,” said Angel Newman, Director. “We especially hope our dogs who have been waiting in the shelter far too long can connect with their special person.”

Qualified adopters can take advantage of all fees waived for dogs and cat over one year old and people can adopt two kittens for only a $25 fee. All pets are spayed/neuter, microchipped and have appropriate vaccinations.

Recent data released by Best Friends showed in 2021 U.S. shelters saw an 8.1 percent increase in animal intakes that pet adoptions couldn’t keep pace with. Oconee Humane Society has seen a steady increase in the number of pets in our shelter and we have been inundated with kittens.
