Oconee Humane Society scaling back Pet Adoptions on Saturday

The Oconee Humane Society is scaling back plans for a weekend adoption event on Saturday, Sept. 15, due to current weather forecasts related to Hurricane Florence. Shelter overcrowding is driving the Oconee Humane Society to continue with the partial adoption weekend to try to help pets find homes before the storm remnants arrive in the Upstate. Everyone is encouraged to come out to PetSmart in Seneca from 10am to 4pm, weather permitting. A variety of dogs and cats, all of which are spayed or neutered, micro chipped and have age-appropriate shots will be available at reduced adoption fees. The shelter, located at 1925 Sandifer Blvd, will also be open from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018.
