Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority Reports Water Quality Levels at Seneca Creek Are normal

(Seneca, SC)—————-The Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority issued a press release yesterday stating that water quality levels are normal at Seneca Creek following a sewer spill this past Saturday.

The Sewer Authority issued an advisory following the release that alerted those in the area to avoid contact downstream of Davis Creek Road to Lake Hartwell as a precautionary measure.

DHEC inspected the site and approved the removal of the advisory and signage that was placed near the site, according to the release.

The emergency was caused when a small section of broken concrete caused a sanitary sewer overflow near the intersection of Highway 123 at Davis Creek Road on Saturday.
