Oconee Nuclear Station Employees give $72,000 to United Way

Duke Energy’s Oconee Nuclear Station teammates recently presented local United Way agencies with checks on behalf of employee fundraising efforts in 2017, tells Mikayla Kreuzberger, Corporate Communications for Duke Energy. “In total, Oconee Nuclear Station employees raised more than $72,000 for Anderson, Oconee and Pickens United Way agencies. Anderson County received $10,822.52; Pickens County received $27,142.99; and Oconee County received $34,280.94. These fundraising efforts are separate from Duke Energy’s annual employee giving campaign through payroll deductions.” Checks were presented at Oconee Nuclear Station’s Volunteer Appreciation Brunch, where Duke Energy engineer Bill Edge received the 2017 Jimmy Ginn Volunteer of the Year award for his exemplary volunteer service in his community.
