OCPL unveils new service Universal Class

The Oconee County Public Library in partnership with Recorded Books announces the introduction of Universal Class Library Edition, which is an online education experience designed specifically for patrons of public libraries.  With a growing catalog of over 500 courses, Universal Class provides online training guided by real instructors in a collaborative learning environment.  Video-based lessons, graded lesson tests, certificates of achievement and Continuing Education Units (available for selected courses) offer students a measurable learning experience that helps them master and document their educational goals. “OCPL strives to be at the forefront of supporting lifelong learning in our communities and Universal Class provides an excellent avenue for us to enrich, enlighten, and entertain our patrons. I am excited about this new service as I am certain people will really appreciate all that Universal Class offers them,” states Branch Services Librarian K’Lani Green. Notable courses available under Universal Class include GED Test Preparation, Interview Skills 101, English as Second Language Basic Grammar and Writing, Microsoft Word 2010, and Windows 8.
