OEA announces Speaker for March Business Forum

The Oconee Economic Alliance (OEA) holds the March Business Forum on Thursday, March 8. “This month’s business forum will feature FOLKS, Friends of Lake Keowee Society. FOLKS is an organization of over 2,000 members whose mission is to preserve, protect and enhance Lake Keowee and its watershed through conservation, science, education and good governance so that the lake remains clean, safe and beautiful for the community, users, visitors, area businesses and future generations,” said OEA Executive Director Richard Blackwell. “The OEA Business Forum is a monthly opportunity for citizens and business leaders to come together in Oconee County to network, receive timely updates on topics facing the community and discuss ways to work together in making Oconee County a better place,” added Blackwell. As a part of the OEA’s #GiveOconee initiative, each month the OEA will feature an Oconee County based nonprofit and solicit your help in meeting their immediate needs. This month the OEA proudly features Grace’s Closet. Julie-ann Shannon, Director of Grace’s Closet Oconee County, will attend. The OEA ask that you help meet their immediate need for: deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, soap, new hairbrushes, combs, toothpaste, toothbrushes, underwear and socks of all sizes. There will be a designated location for your donations at the forums but monetary donations are also accepted. The OEA thanks you in advance for your help. The goal is to challenge you to #ThinkOconee when you shop, eat, and play, but also when you give, #GiveOconee. The forum begins at 8am on March 8, and the public is encouraged to attend this free event at Thrift Development, located at 180 Bountyland Road in Seneca. The Business Forum is made possible by the generous support of the OEA membership.
