OEA excited about Nason expansion

A local manufacturing company is expanding its operations near West Union. Switch and cylinder manufacturer, the Nason Company, announces plans to invest $2.5 million for 20,000 square feet of additional manufacturing space at its plant on Highway 11, explains Oconee Economic Alliance executive director Richard Blackwell. “Oconee County is blessed to have Nason call this area home. They have been a wonderful corporate partner for many years in this community. It is excited to see this expansion and the new jobs for our global market here. They are going to invest roughly $2.5 million in an expansion; they are going to grow their current site by adding an additional 30,000 square feet of those 20,000 feet are going to be production floor space and 10,000 feet are for some more office space. They are going to hire 26 new people. All that is slated to start this year. They are right off Highway 11 and currently have 104 employees and the products they are making are in demand and they are needing to expand to meet that demand, so us at the county level are very excited and we welcome this growth.” On April 19, the Oconee County Council holds a public hearing to authorize a fee in lieu of tax agreement with the Nason Company.
