OEA to host November Business Forum

The November Business Forum of the Oconee Economic Alliance (OEA) will feature a representative from Tri-County Technical College’s I-BEST program, a nationally recognized workforce development program designed by Washington State community colleges and adapted for Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens counties. Local I-BEST programs are created, offered, and enhanced through collaborative partnerships between the College, School Districts, Adult Education Centers, and employers throughout the tri-county area. The programs focus on students between the ages 17-20 and adults who can benefit from non-traditional education pathways in preparation for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) careers that require postsecondary technical education. “The OEA Business Forum is a monthly opportunity for citizens and business leaders to come together in Oconee County to network, receive timely updates on topics facing the community and discuss ways to work together in making Oconee County a better place,” said OEA Executive Director Richard Blackwell. The forum begins at 8am on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 and the public is encouraged to attend this free event at Thrift Development, located at 180 Bountyland Road in Seneca. The Oconee Business Forum is made possible by the generous support of the OEA membership.
