OEA’s November Business Forum this Thursday

The November Business Forum of the Oconee Economic Alliance (OEA) is Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018. This month’s speaker is Martine Helou, the Executive Director of Palmetto Foundation for Prevention and Recovery, tells OEA Marketing and Communications Director Daja Dial. “Due to inclement weather Martine was unable to join us in October. The discussion during last month’s meeting demonstrated the interest in her presentation, thus, we rescheduled Martine and we are excited to say that she will join us this month as our November speaker. Formerly, Martine served as the Community Relations and Correspondence Director for the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office. Currently, Martine is pursuing initiatives she began at the Sheriff’s Office and putting them to work on a state level through her role at the Palmetto Foundation. Martine represents her foundation as a member of Senator Graham’s Opioid Roundtable for Greenville County and has been invited to be on Governor McMaster’s Opioid Task Force division for community response.” The OEA Business Forum is a monthly opportunity for citizens and business leaders to come together in Oconee County to network, receive timely updates on topics facing the community and discuss ways to work together in making Oconee County a better place. “As a part of our #GiveOconee initiative, each month we will feature an Oconee County based nonprofit and solicit your help in meeting their immediate needs. This month we are proud to feature United Way of Oconee County. LaShauna Harrison, Chief Executive Officer, will join us. Please help us meet their immediate need for diapers, sizes 4, 5, and 6. We thank you in advance for your help. Our goal is to challenge you to #ThinkOconee when you shop, eat, and play, but also when you give,” adds Dial. The forum begins at 8am on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, and the public is encouraged to attend this free event at Thrift Development, located at 180 Bountyland Road in Seneca. The Oconee Business Forum is made possible by the generous support of the OEA membership.
