OHC announces Celebrate Oconee! Photo Contest

The Oconee Heritage Center (OHC) announces the Celebrate Oconee! photo contest to commemorate Oconee County’s Sesquicentennial or 150th birthday. The OHC’s Celebrate Oconee! Photo Contest is open to photographers of all ages and skill levels. “We are looking for striking photographs of life in Oconee County to celebrate Oconee County’s Sesquicentennial,” says OHC Director and Curator Leslie Hagerty. “Photographs must exhibit one of three categories: people, natural beauty, or historic places. No historic photographs will be accepted.” Photographers must submit an 8×10 copy of your photograph on photograph paper and a digital copy to OHC. Judging will take place in early August by a panel of local dignitaries and experts. The public will get to vote on a “People’s Choice” winner via OHC’s Facebook page. The deadline to enter the contest is Tuesday, July 31, by 5pm. For rules and more information, visit www.oconeeheritagecenter.org.
