OHC hosting Throwback Thursdays

Every Thursday in June, from 3-5pm, the Oconee Heritage Center (OHC) hosts Throwback Thursdays. Bring your child for a fun, hands-on look at life in Oconee County from the past to the present. Registration is a must, so, contact Jennifer Moss at 864-638-2224 or [email protected] to reserve your child’s spot. The cost is $10 for OHC members and $15 for non-members. On June 7, the theme is Oconee County History. Oconee County is celebrating its 150th birthday this year. Learn how Oconee County has grown and changed in the last 150 years. Attendees will explore activities relating to different time periods in Oconee County’s history. On June 14, learn about music, which has been a big part of heritage in Oconee County. Attendees will explore different musical instruments, musical styles, and listen to a live music performance. On June 21, the theme is nature. Oconee County has an abundance of natural beauty. From waterfalls to rivers, from plants to animals learn why Oconee County is unique in the natural world. On June 28, learn about recreation. Oconee County is a great place for recreation. From boating to camping, from hiking to biking, there are lots of things for you to do right here. Attendees will explore skills that you can use while enjoying Oconee County’s recreational opportunities. The OHC is located at 123 Brown’s Square Drive in downtown Walhalla.
