OJRSA Board To Address Residence Requirement for Commissioners to Serve
Earlier this year, Westminster’s Administrator Kevin Bronson was removed from the Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority Board because he did not reside in Oconee County. Now, if the board takes action, the residency requirement to be a commissioner, which has been in place for several years, could be lifted.
Yesterday, during a meeting of the finance and administration committee, an agenda item appeared for the board to consider amending the OJRSA Bylaws to allow a City Administrator and/or a Utilities Director that is employed fulltime by the Member City to serve as a Commissioner if they reside outside of Oconee County.
The committee yesterday agreed that the matter should be addressed by the full board.
