OMC Employees donate to Head Start Children

The Christmas wish lists of some 35 children at Head Start were fulfilled this year by Oconee Medical Center employees. Staff members from Head Start came to Oconee Medical Center with a small bus to pick up the gifts which filled all but one seat and the aisle. Oconee Medical Center employees are active volunteers in many organizations throughout the community, but they could not resist the opportunity to spread a little Christmas cheer and provide gifts for these young children who may not have had much under the tree at home. “We started with a list of 25 names,” said Heather Goss, marketing manager at Oconee Medical Center. “But before we knew it, they were taken and employees were still asking to help.” Head Start provided names and wish lists of 10 more children. “When we gathered the bags of gifts to load into the bus we were not only amazed at the outpouring of support, but also very proud to work with such a generous group of people,” added Goss.
