OMC hosting 2nd Annual 5K for March of Dimes

Oconee Medical Center is hosting its 2nd annual 5K fundraiser for the March of Dimes on April 13 at Trinity Baptist Church in Seneca. Registration will begin at 8am and the 5K will start at 9am.  Last year over 100 walkers and runners, some pushing baby strollers or escorting dogs, came out for the 5K, which helped the hospital raise over $20,000 for the March of Dimes. “We hope to have as good or better participation this year,” said the hospital’s March of Dimes committee chairperson Debbie Karns. “We heard positive feedback from people who participated last year.” Awards are given for top male and female runners in each age category. Registration for the 5K has begun and entry fees are reduced for those who register before March 29. Early registration costs $25. Registration between March 29 and April 12 is $30. Race day registration costs $35. The March of Dimes receives 100% of the proceeds from the event. Registration forms and sponsorship information are available online at www.oconeemed.org under the news tab, on the hospital’s Facebook page, and online at www.active.com.
