Open Forum for Legislators

On Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018, at 7pm, the League of Women Voters of the Clemson Area holds a Legislators Open Forum at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, which is located at 100 Thomas Green Boulevard in Clemson. Annually, before the beginning of each new session in the General Assembly, the League of Women Voters invites a few local legislators to discuss the accomplishments of the past session and the issues they hope to pursue in the coming session. Three local legislators who will participate this year are Gary Clary, SC House District 3; Thomas Alexander, Senate District 1 serving Oconee and Pickens counties; and Rex Rice, Senate District 2 serving Pickens County. The purpose of this panel discussion is to hear their assessment of the past session and learn of their priorities for the upcoming session. The forum is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of the Clemson Area, which is a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
