Our Daily Rest watching Weather and prepared to wave White Flag

Oconee County’s only homeless shelter, Our Daily Rest, is closely watching the weather and is prepared to wave the white flag should the need arise, explains Executive Director Lauren Richardson. “We’re monitoring the weather very closely. We do plan to open our white flag shelter if the weather gets really bad. My anticipation is that we will open sometime late Saturday evening, maybe about 8pm or 9pm, and then we will stay open until the storm is over, which is at the moment forecasted to be early Monday morning.” Our Daily Rest asks those seeking shelter to bring only necessities and a good attitude. It cannot admit anyone who is obviously under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Our Daily Rest is located at 525 East Main Street in Seneca.
