Outdoor Movie Night at the World of Energy

For the fourth year in a row, The World of Energy plans to host outdoor movie night on Friday, June 7 beginning at 9pm, featuring the movie “Escape from Planet Earth.” The computer animated family film is rated PG and features astronaut Scorch Supernova who finds himself caught in a trap when he responds to an SOS from a notoriously dangerous alien planet. Outdoor movie night is a community wide event that is free and open to the public.  “We are excited to be hosting this event again this year,” said BJ Gatten, Communications Manager of the World of Energy.  “It’s a wonderful opportunity for families to come out and enjoy the grounds and the lake here at the World of Energy and take in a movie at the same time.” Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket and snacks, or snacks will be available for purchase.  You can watch the movie from the shoreline or from your boat on Lake Keowee.  No pets or alcoholic beverages are permitted. Designated parking will be marked with signs near the World of Energy on Highway 130 and transportation to the lake’s peninsula will be provided for those who need it. For more information, directions or in case of bad weather, check the World of Energy’s website at www.duke-energy.com/worldofenergy.
