PA Man Sentenced to 40 Years for Murder

David Delgado, Jr.
David Delgado Jr., a 28-year-old man from Pennsylvania, received a 40-year prison sentence on Tuesday after pleading guilty to murder and weapons charges in the 2023 shooting death of Ajhai Yvonne Taraya Gambrell, with whom he had a relationship.
According to Solicitor Micah Black, Gambrell’s body was discovered near the Seneca-Clemson corridor and Wells Highway, close to a residence where investigators found blood and a bullet hole in a bathtub. Black described the murder as “senseless”.
Delgado was arrested shortly after the incident in Virginia following a pursuit by law enforcement. During the court proceedings Tuesday morning, Delgado attempted to make a statement but was interrupted by an outburst from the victim’s family. Blair Stoudemire assisted in prosecuting the case, and the solicitor’s office recognized county investigators Jamie Hellams, Adam Logan, and Clay Sheriff for their work in solving the murder.
