Party Qualifying opens Friday in SC

Candidate qualifying opens Friday for South Carolinians who want to compete in their party’s June 12, primary election, tells Oconee County Voter Registration and Elections Director Joy Scharich. “Friday at noon, we open filling for partisan filling that would be if you want to be on the ticket under the Republican or Democratic party. That is State House 1 and 2 can file with us and then we have countywide Probate Judge and we have County Council Seat 1 and 3. So, they file starting at noon on Friday and that will remain open until Friday, March 30, at noon.” For those wanting to run for Governor and other state offices such as Treasurer and Attorney General, the place to file is the South Carolina Election Commission in Columbia.
